On Feb. 2, 1960, Sandy Royster ’64, who at the time was the Freshmen Class treasurer, was sitting in his biology class when Franklin McCain shared with him what happened on the day before. He had shared with his classmates that himself, Ezell Blair, Jr. (Jibreel Khazan), Joseph McNeil and David Richmond walked downtown and “sat – in” at the whites–only lunch counter at Woolworth’s. This article is based on the experiences of Mr. Pollard Stanford ’61 in honor of his brothers Lorenzo ’61 and Carl Stanford ‘ 63. In the late 1950s and 60s, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University athletics were at an all-time high of winning championships for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). It was a very familiar euphoric feeling that Aggies feel today with the university’s current athletic success. Dr. Kelly Richmond Pope, CPA ’96, an expert in white collar crimes and an associate professor at DePaul University, can now add to her resume that she is an award-winning filmmaker. On July 10, 2018, her first film, “All the Queen’s Horses,” a documentary on one of the biggest fraud cases in American history, debuted on Netflix. “As a professor that teaches forensic accounting, creating this film was an easy transition because I used it as a technique to teach others about fraud,” said Pope. “The one thing people can learn about fraud is that anybody can do it and we are all vulnerable to it.” “All The Queens Horses”…

Ryan Major ’08, has been an entrepreneur for more than five years and the road to entrepreneurship has not been an easy one, but the process has been all worth it. In today’s society where so many negative statistics are facing African American males, Rictor Craig ’03 has made it his life’s mission to empower and educate boys of color.
