Curtis Walls ‘08 is a man of many talents who has achieved many successes through sports, leadership coaching, philanthropy, art and entrepreneurship. Walls, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, came to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with aspirations of becoming a top student-athlete, excelling in academics and on the football field. He was the team captain and played as a wide receiver from 2003-07. In addition, in 2006 he became a member of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. According to Insider.com, the odds of a mother conceiving quadruplets naturally are just 1 in 700,000 pregnancies. Aggie couple Gerald Harper ‘89 and Dayna Harper ‘12 defeated those odds with the birth of quadruplets Grant, Gavin, Sydney, and Bailey on March 11, 2023. Gerald and Dayna’s Aggie love story began with love at first sight. The couple met in 2012 in downtown Greensboro and have been inseparable since their first date. The pair share a love for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University through service to the Raleigh-Wake Alumni Chapter, with Gerald having served as chapter president and Dayna as corresponding secretary. There is tremendous Aggie Pride in anticipation of the Blue and Gold Marching Machine’s performance at the Tournament of the Roses Parade on January 1, 2024. All of the ensembles are essential to making the Blue and Gold Marching Machine (BGMM) outstanding. A standout section of the band is the drum line, more famously known as Cold Steel. The Greensboro community will see some familiar faces on Saturday, Nov. 4, for the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Homecoming Parade, the Honorable Justice Henry E. Frye Sr. and Shirley T. Frye will take the lead in the parade as grand marshals. The parade will start at Lindsay and Morrow streets at 8 a.m. ET where it will come to an end on Laurel Street. The Blue and Gold Marching Machine (BGMM) has been a driving factor in enrollment at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for decades. As an iconic staple of Aggieland, the city of Greensboro and the nation, the band attracts millions at the drop of the beat. For 20 years, Kenneth Ruff, Ed.D. ‘90 and ‘93, has been the band director who has been instrumental in the elevation of BGMM. One of North Carolina A&T’s oldest alumnus Mr. Nathaniel Hines ’52, celebrated another milestone birthday by turning 103 years on Sept. 28. Hines was born Sept. 28, 1920, to Cicero and Amanda Hines in Bladenboro, North Carolina. Before attending A&T, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 11, 1941, during World War II and completed tours of duty in France, Germany, Belgium, and Japan within four and half years. “After I was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, I read about North Carolina A&T, and my late wife, Lottie, encouraged me to attend,” he said. “I was a non-traditional student, married with two daughters, and I lived in military…

General admission ticket sales for the Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert featuring R&B Icon, Charlie Wilson, will open on Monday, Sept. 25, at noon ET on Eventbrite.com. The concert will take place on Friday, Nov. 3, in the Guilford Ballroom at The Koury Convention Center.
