Dr. Kelly Richmond Pope, CPA ’96, an expert in white collar crimes and an associate professor at DePaul University, can now add to her resume that she is an award-winning filmmaker. On July 10, 2018, her first film, “All the Queen’s Horses,” a documentary on one of the biggest fraud cases in American history, debuted on Netflix. “As a professor that teaches forensic accounting, creating this film was an easy transition because I used it as a technique to teach others about fraud,” said Pope. “The one thing people can learn about fraud is that anybody can do it and we are all vulnerable to it.” “All The Queens Horses”…

Ryan Major ’08, has been an entrepreneur for more than five years and the road to entrepreneurship has not been an easy one, but the process has been all worth it. He is the founder and president of Triangle Business Systems, located in his hometown of Durham, North Carolina, where he has grown his business to be one of the largest authorized Xerox dealers in the United States. In today’s society where so many negative statistics are facing African American males, Rictor Craig ’03 has made it his life’s mission to empower and educate boys of color. A former teacher and principal, he is now the founding director of instruction at Statesmen College Preparatory Academy for Boys located in Washington, D.C. “Working in education for more than 15 years, I noticed early on in my profession that boys of color are undervalued in the school system and I knew that I had to be intentional on how I reached my students,” said Craig. Dr. Lois Fears ’53 has been a persistent leader in the field of education and has dedicated 51 years of her life to being an educator. When nominations for the 90th annual Academy Awards were announced on Jan. 23, Kevin Wilson, Jr.’s ’11 life changed before his very eyes. He was nominated for his short film, “My Nephew Emmett,” in the Best Live Action Short Film category. “My Nephew Emmett” is a 20-minute film that takes place on the night of Aug. 28, 1955, when the 14-year-old Emmett Till was abducted, tortured and murdered in Money, Mississippi. The film was written, produced and directed by Wilson as a curricular project at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts’ Graduate Film Program, where he is currently a student. The organization is an alumni-based group that focuses on connecting Aggies and creating a legacy of giving back to N.C. A&T.
