N.C. A&T Says Farewell to Teresa M. Davis ’89, AVC for Alumni Relations
Dear Alumni and Friends,
It causes me great sadness to announce that Teresa M. Davis, our Associate Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations, will be leaving her position and the University as of December 31st, 2022. Teresa will be pursuing the next chapter of her life in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Teresa has been instrumental in shaping and leading the transition to Alumni Relations as we know it at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University today. She has built a solid team of professionals in engagement, programming, and communications; navigated the challenges of alumni engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic; fostered the growth of alumni involvement through new programs and activities, particularly during Homecoming and Class Reunions; and played a significant role as a member of the division’s leadership team in the success of The Power of DO: The Campaign for North Carolina A&T State University.
Teresa always has been, and will always continue to be one of this institution’s most energetic and enthusiastic supporters and we all wish her the very best knowing that she will always be there cheering on the University. She can take great pride in knowing that the work she has done has left an indelible mark on North Carolina A&T State University during a period of tremendous advances in many areas, but has also built the foundation for continued success for many years to come.
While it will be difficult to replace Teresa, we will begin a national search in earnest come January. In the interim, I have named Crystal W. Boyce, Director of Alumni Programs, as Interim Associate Vice Chancellor beginning January 1, 2023. Like Teresa, Crystal is an Aggie and has been an integral part of our Alumni Relations team. She brings a great deal of professionalism, passion and pride to the role and I am delighted she has agreed to serve as a member of our senior leadership team in the interim.
Aggie Pride, Teresa! I know everyone in the Division of University Advancement, the University, and our alumni will miss you as much as I and appreciate you as both a colleague and a friend.
Sincerely,
Kenneth E. Sigmon, Jr.
Vice Chancellor for University Advancement
N.C. A&T State University

Teresa has been an inspirational leader for the National Advisory Alumni Committee. She is fiercely loyal to NCA&T and always begins the meetings with the A&T howl. She is tour de force in her own right. I think she might find Indianapolis a bit boring culturally after living in Greensboro. I wish her Godspeed as she enters another period of her life. Sorry that you are leaving, but we know that you are a loyal supporter of NCA&T and you will continue to inspire others.
